Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • ACT Newbie looking to get into a Golf

    Hi All

    Newbie here.

Looking to get myself a Golf (not sure which variant). I drove one recently and fell in love!

Thinking GTI at this stage but also like the Rs (if the price is right, but realistically probably the GTI will be the one). Probably after a less then 2yo second hand.

I am looking around right now but there is nothing available (especially in the ACT) in the low $30Ks which is what I have read to be about right, pricewise?

All are in the mid - high $30s on CarSales too. All are inter-state which makes things even more difficult.

Could also be tempted by the Adidas (not sure I like the seats/decor though - looks a bit *too* much like a pair of track pants to me! Maybe I am too old at the wrong side of 30!) or the even the Edition 35.

Would appreciate your thoughts on the above & look also forward to contributing; I have never owned a VW before either.

    Regards
    javab0y
