Bought me a daily driver, a '97 Golf 1.8 auto, partly for daughter to stick her L's on and partly to hide my pride and joy from the great unwashed out there.
Say it quietly, my pride and joy is a Renault Clio 182 Cup in French Racing Blue avec Gordini stripes. I know it's French and not German, I know it doesn't have a turbo and I know you have to rev the whatsits off it but boy does it go round corners well.
Back to the Golf, figured I needed something steady (and sturdy) for the L plater, so VW it is. Look forward to picking up hints and tips as it gets bedded in.
