NSW what to know and look out for in purchasing 2003 Mk4 Golf 2.0 auto

Hi fellow VW watercooled forum members,

I'm new to the watercooled VW world, looking at purchasing an auto 2003 Mk4 with 145k on the clock, selling privately for $9,500, rego 'til Jun 12. It looks and drives well. What quirks should I look out for?

I'm getting my mechanic to look over it tomorrow.
