Thanks team_v. I bought a Tiguan TDI103 just before Christmas. My first VW. Attracted to the Tiguan because I wanted an automatic diesel. My previous car of 6 years was a H6 Subaru Outback. Would probably have bought a Forester diesel this time, if it had come with an automatic option.

The diesel actually has a fair amount of get up and go considering how heavy the car is.

We purchased it because we do a fair bit of country driving and often with a trailer in tow. So I looked for a diesel (my first) for greater torque and for fuel economy. Am pretty pleased with it thus far with one country trip already completed. Not yet towed the trailer but would expect that it will handle it with ease. Like the DSG!
