Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Exploring the world through the windscreen of my Mk 5 GT Sport

    Aloha,

Just returned to Australia from a stint in the US for a few years. Needed a set of wheels when I returned and fell for my silver Mk 5 GT Sport. Love the TDI and the range in the tank.

I fell upon this site researching info on upgrading/improving the audio system (add the iPhone and blue tooth connectivity. that old chestnut).

Anyway looks like I have landed in the wiki of oz VW knowledge..

    Regards,

    D_F

      Thank you Sir.

I am really new to the possibilities available to my vehicle. by the sounds of it its all about the $$ and some imagination. Is there any suggested mods that are a must? Seeing tho its outside of warrantee I guess its open slather!

        Welcome mate.
Hit up Greg's threads in the diesel section for all the info you will ever need.
He is a Local and knows a lot about the Diesels.

Hope to see you at some of our events.

          Congratulations.

And while in the Diesel section, as well as looking at Greg's tinker threads, also have a read of the injector failure thread as it is relevant for your engine.
