Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Hi all, I planning on buying a MK6 GTI so here I am...

    Hi all,

I'm planning on getting a new family car - MK6 Golf GTI.

Currently drive a Alfa Romeo 156 GTA - which will be up for sale once I get a GTI. Will be sadly missed though!

Looking forward to chatting to you all.

    Take care

    Lemi

Awesome choice! I have had mine for 7 months and love it more each day (well, since I got the tune)...

This forum will provide lots of info on pricing/specs etc so make the most of it.

Yeah I doubt I will keep it stock... chipping seems like a must especially coming from one of worlds best production V6 engines...

The GTI I'm looking for is:
        5 door 2010-11
        up to 30,000 ks
        Tornado Red
        Cloth Interior
        DSG
        18" Detroits
        Sunroof (not a must)

I'm expectiong to pay low $30's

        What do you guys think?

I think that would be a wholesale price so maybe need to pay a bit more, esp as most seem to want mid to late 30s. Sunroof is a rare option too - one which I personally think is a waste of money/time.

Well, there are a couple for mid $30's so once negotiated should be low $30's

This one would have been perfect if it was red:

                  Hi all - again.

Here I am after more than 2.5 years finally with a GTI. I will be introducing her soon. Need to take some pics and figure out how to post them here.

                  Hoooray.

Welcome to the Mk6 world, Lemi.

I'm sure that you are well aware that Golfs are built to a price and not a standard. This does provide us with ample opportunity to junk the rubbish bits and keep the aftermarket in business. I'm sure by now you would have read all the design stuff up issues that have popped up over the years and either picked an already-fixed GTI or have an extensive to do list to get cracking with.
