Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    ACT newbie from canberra..

    hey all

    I've been lurking for about 6 months, I don't have a VW yet, currently have a toyota Celsior as my daily driver. I've always loved MK1's, my dad bought one brand new when I was about 5 or 6. I am on the lookout for a MK1, will be used as a daily. I would love to get one that needs a bit of work, so I can get some hands on experience with the car. Will probably just have a carb/bike throttle body setup on it, with some nice dished 14x7's... I've been checking out everyone's projects/builds, and soaking up as much knowledge as I can. that's all for now, hope to chat to all in the forums...

    Hey mate, I have been living in Ainslie the past year, there is a house around the corner from me that has a few MK1 golfs sitting unused on the front lawn, maybe worth a suss and a knock on the door. house is on Officer crs sort of just near the corner Ebden st. ps sorry got me streets mixed up it on ebden st close to the cnr of wakefield gardens...
