Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Welcome hadrami, that's a drool-worthy vehicle you're aspiring to. Got a timeframe for turning potential into actual ownership?

I was offered a black one for $46700 (dsg, driveaway) from Essendon Volkswagen but had to be bought by end of last year as they had it in stock and were trying to reach target sales. Although I was very keen on it (could have knocked off a couple hundred more) I actually prefer a white one which they'd do for $47500 but had to wait a week which was fine by me.

I didn't end up going for it at this stage due to the wife thinking I can't afford it (women...) but I have my eyes set on one and God willing sometime soon will have one in my hands.

Don't waste your time haggling over a few hundred dollars. Go for it - I have had mine for 3 months - outstanding car

Do you guys think they will do some sort of promotion on 2011 cars (inc ED35) later in Jan/Feb

As much as I would like one right now I think I'll wait till towards the end of the year as both my wife's aurion and one of my machines for printing business end in just over a year. I don't mind getting a 35 that's done around 10000kms second hand even. Should be able to get one for 40k seeing that the Adidas editions are that much at the moment for dsg stock.

I'm assuming you have a 35 TomTom? Care to share specs and price?

Just got back from Bayford VW in Epping (VIC) who were willing to get me a white ED35 from Canberra transported to Melbourne, DSG, rest is stock for $46000 driveaway.

This works out to be around the same price of $46700 for the black from Essendon VW as it is extra to get it in a colour other than white.

            What do you guys think?

Mine was 47000 - white, standard manual except I got tinting on the front and rear sensors. As the one you refer to is mDSG, I would grab it at that price
