Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

This site fixed a bench seat unlocking problem that non of the dealerships were prepared to touch this time of year. I thought I would contribute for anyone who is thinking of reconfiguring their T5 kombi into a more practical layout. I have used this for five years now and love it. I will include some pics..............David

    Hi David,

Do you have a close up of picture of the security screen fitted?
Does it simply slip into the window channel and then you secure with the pair of window slide catches?

    Cheers, MM

        Hi David,

Just came across this old posting whilst doing a search. I have 96 T4 that has a sliding window directly behind the driver's seat and I've been trying to work out a way to attach a security type mesh to it for ventilation without having to worry about security. I had a look at your pictures but I can't tell if your security screen is fitted to a sliding window?

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
