Hi everyone,
Been searching the forum for ages and throught it was time to join in.
The informations been great in the forum
Currently have a 09 TDI Passat wagon, looking for another car to add to the garage at the moment hopefully a Mk5 GT or GTI
However after reading all the comments on the Mk5 GTI - i'm a bit scared as it seem that there are big issues with a fair few of them
I would be looking at a car out of warranty DSG gearbox, and looking to add a towbar.
Is it the just that the issues are listed in the forums, rather than eveyone who has had a good experience, or is 1 out of every 5 DSG gearboxs needing replacing at a cost of around 5k and that it is likly that the AC will need to be replaced at some stage?
I've driven a couple of GTI's and love them but not really keen on buying a ticking time bomb
