Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New Tiguan owner

Hi all, I have just brought a 2011 MY12 Tiguan 132tsi manual which I had the pleasure of driving for 3 days before I had to go back to work for 4 weeks. Miss it nearly as much as the wife and kids lol. I owned a 2000 GT forester for 9 years before deciding to change over to VW. Loved my Forester and spent over $10k on mods and never had a major problem the whole time with her, Just hope the VW can be as reliable. Look forward to learning and sharing info with you all.

    Cheers

Another ex Subi convert. I've owned many Subis over the years but this time around VW won the race for me. I'm certain youre going to thoroughly enjoy it.

Hi Drift, Sold the GT Forester to my brother so I can still get to drive it every now and then, Needed more room for the kids in the back which the Tiguan has heaps! more of front and back, Plus we need to tow around 1600kg every now and then (Short trips) which the GT Forester was not suitable with only a 500kg rating braked. Really like the feel of the Tiguan, Handles really nicely and brakes are nice and strong. Plus it has that new car smell lol.

What problem came up with the Tiguan?

They respond really well to tuning!

            Doh!
I miss read it and thought you said it had a problem.

Stage 1 tune should be more than enough to get your tuning blood pumping.
