Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Hi

    Hi,

Just wanted to say Hi, I bought my first Golf about a month ago, MY09 MkVI GTI, I have to say they are a very nice car to drive. Can't wait until I get a tune!

    Welcome mate.
What spec Golf did you get?

A tune makes the car into a totally new beast, mine is a blast to drive now.

Hope to see you at some of our events.

Welcome! Yours will be an MY10 if it's a MkVI GTI, even if it was built in '09. They started with MY10 in Australia.

Oops, my bad, yes MY10, first post and first mistake, doing well haha.

Team_V, its a Candy white 5 door DSG with the 17" denver's, pretty stock as they seem to be holding a really high private re-sale value. Would have loved leather, but the cloth is quite nice, my wife didn't really like the look of it at first while we were looking around, but now she loves it.

I got it for a good price with only 20,000 on it, just run in I say, even flew down to Sydney from Brisbane to buy it, it was a nice trip home to get acustomed to it though, a relaxing 12h run throug rain for most if it, drives like a dream really. Oh and did I mention that they have the most comfortable bucket seats I have ever sat in. The R seats are probably better, but I personally haven't sat in one, so ignorance is bliss.

Hmm, yeah they are. So firm and tight, makes cornering almost mandatory
