Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hello and question about years

    Hello all,

my first car was actually an Mk1 Diesel golf. Had some great times with the car, but traded it in for something a little more modern. Now I feel like going back and getting another Mk1

I am helping my folks sell there Golf at the moment and just have a question about years. They are have a golf that was purchased in December 2010, does this make it an MY11 or MY10?

BTW, they are just trading it in for another one

    Thanks

    William

Really it depends on when the car is built. Because you can sometime have a car that is MY10 but it was purchased in January 2011.

My Jetta is MY08 but was purchased in February 2009.
    HAI?!
