Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hey Guys/Girls,

I'm Goran. I've been lurking around the forum for a while but finally got around to introducing myself

Coming from 2 modified Impreza WRX's which were great, I'm now a proud owner of a 2008 Golf TDi Pacific DSG (since January of this year). The Golf is definitely a class above the WRX in many ways but obviously I'm used a fair bit of shove in the pants. Love the Golf but do however think I need some more power/torque (though it is decent as is for a stock car) and am potentially looking at getting a Bluefin or buying a GTi, or possibly a GT diesel.

Anyway, I'm in the Western Suburbs (Point Cook) and do enjoy a chinwag about cars/sport/bicycles and anything really.

    Cheers

    hey goran how are things?

that's quite a change, coming from the subaru works family.

a remap will see gtd levels of power/torque, but then you can remap a gti/gtd and get even more from that. prior to that, i'd look at correcting the understeer that is built into these cars via suspension/tyres etc.

you should come along to some meets (tim's factory is a regular haunt on friday nights, but that's over dandy way), otherwise come along to our annual maroondah dam cruise on the 4th of december - lots of peeps coming together for a bit of a drive, some foods, and good conversation.

    enjoi!

      Hey Scotty,

Very well thanks, and you? Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I'm considering doing some mods but not sure whether I should consider selling and upgrading instead, tossing up at the moment.. can you recommend anything? I'm thinking Bluefin and a Whiteline rsb 24mm adjustable. Not sure whether I want to change to lowered springs or not, think i'd prefer not to at this stage...
Curently the only mod I have is 17" Denver GTi wheels which i've had powdercoated in Onyx Pearl - they look great.

I may come to this cruise on the 4th!
