NSW New to VW - very excited about getting my NEW Jetta 147TSI with Sat and sports Pack

Found this forum and it seems you all know your stuff.

Can't wait. have heard some great reviews about the Jetta and some not so good. Every car has its good and bad points.

Ordered it on the 23rd October. very lucky as the config I wanted was aready on a boat docking on the 8th Nov at Port Kembla. Already have the VIN.

Tracked the ship which was the Dalian Highway from Japan to Australia. Pretty nifty.

I decided (not much of a choice did not want to wait 6 months) to go for a Silver Jetta 147TSI with Sports Pack, leather, Sat Nav, and Queensland wheels. Looks nice. No sunroof... (not important)
Hope to hear from you guys soon. Will post a photo when I get the car.

Just saw a brand new Bright Red Jetta 147,and it looked STUNNING.

What other cars did you consider,and what is the new Jetta going to be replacing ???

Hi Anthony, I was looking at the new Tiguan but the specs I wanted meant that I would wait until July 2012. Thats crazy to wait 6 months for a car. Times are tough so the companies are not risking making too many cars if they cannot sell them.
My backup was the Jetta.

Was also looking at the passat but its over priced. I looked at the mercedes C250 CGI with AMG kit and vision pack. AMAZING car but I could not agree with the dealer on a changeover price so I told them NO.

I know its sound weird that I'm looking for a mercedes and purchased a Jetta !! but I figured that spending over 60K on a car and 6 years later is only worth 10K is a bit of a kick in the head. Thats exactly what happened with the Peugeot 407 I traded in. Nice car but expensive to service and to be honest the 407 left me stranded 3 times in 6 years requiring a tow truck. The 407 only has less that 80000 k's. petrol consumption is a little high.

Thats my story. what are you driving and do you like it?

Maurice,I have had 4 Volkswagens,all bought new,and over the years have spoken MANY freinds and family members into buying VW.

All my cars have been excellent,and everyone who I have convinced to buy VW have been very happy.

I had a Jetta 2.0 FSI for 3 and a half years,which was written off by hail last year.

After also previously owning a Ford and Holden,deceided on a change,so bought a MY11 Honda Accord Euro.
It too,has been a brilliant car,and I am exceptionally happy with it.

Enjoy the Jetta,a cousin went from a Peugeot 407 to a Jetta MK5 TDI,and is very happy with the change he did.

Picked up my MY12 Jetta 147TSI with sports pack on 11/11/11!

LOVE IT! It's not a perfect car, but boy what a car! It's a big upgrade from a Toyota Corolla for me. You'll definitely enjoy it. Took a few people for a spin over the weekend and they were all equally impressed, particularly the rear space.

It's funny how they omitted a coin tray!! !@#$%#$@$#

The VW gods must have been with you on the 11/11/11. Its a good omen.

You should post a couple of photos. Don't worry about the coin tray no big deal here. Coins just mean rattles.

The new Jetta is growing on me,saw 2 today,and both looked good.

Just got off the phone with Chatswood Classic cars who rang me.
my Jetta is arriving at the dealership this thursday the 17th.
I'm booked in to collect the new car on Thursday the 24th.
FINALLY the wait is over.
