Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hi Everybody & Heeeeeelp

    Hey guys,

Im in the market for a car and Im very close to getting a Polo 2006 GTI. I was also looking at a Ford festiva XR4.

Festiva has slotted rotors on the front, K&N pod filter Miltek 4,2,1 manifold, 300 cell cat, cat back exhaust, organic clutch, quaif, lowered, and up rated progressive shocks. It also has 106k's on the clock. One of my gripes is the guy has done his own servicing except for the 90000k service which was done by ford.

Gti serviced by VW 51000k's leather seats and sunroof. Everything else is standard.

Now I'm coming from 3 turbo cars XR5, BMW 135i and Ford focus RS, yes I know a down grade but that the way it is. I do like the idea in the future I can always chip the VW and get that extra power where as the ford pretty much will have to supercharge it $$$.

Also price is a factor as I need to keep costs down. Im borrowing 12k for the ford and 14k for the polo. in the 12k insurance for the year is included but rego is due at the end of the year. Where as the polo has 8 months left but insurance is on top of that.
