    Howdy everyone.
I've been a member on the other big VW forum for many years now, but there's not a lot of action going on in the Aussie section of the website, so here I am over on watercooled.

I've been driving dubs for over 10 years now, when I first met my wife, she was getting around in a '71 Type 3 fastback, I then picked up a 96 VR6 (which we still own), have had a MkIV Bora V6 (yep, I'm a huge fan of the VR6), and am currently driving a MkV Golf 2.0TDI with the potential of a Tiguan on the way to replace the VR6.

I've got my eyes on the Golf R, but that's at least 12 months away for me at the moment - with an R and a Tiguan in the garage, they'd probably both end up being keepers...

I'm this close to signing on the dotted line now for a 2009 Tiggy - white, manual, black leather and tinted windows. Tasty.
The manual 2.0 TDI seems to be quicker off the line than my golf with DSG - I think the DSG in the Golf TDI is really tuned for comfort and it slips the clutch quite a lot coming from a standing start.

Thanks for the welcome - I'll have to try and dig up some pictures, I'm not sure what I've done with them!
It's a pretty good condition 1996 white VR6. Debadged front and rear (except for the small VR6 on the rear) and is pretty well stock.
I had it chipped with a GIAC chip really early on and that give it a nice boost in power. Other than that, it's just the headunit that's not OEM. Still got the original seat covers and all.

I'll always have a soft spot for the VR6 - I miss my MkIV Bora V6 (with the 24V VR6 engine) and whilst at one stage I would have loved an R32, realistically I'll probably end up in an R instead...
