Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Haven't had an update in a while - been quite busy, so not much happening I guess.

        Dodo Juice Purple haze wax
        No pics

Wash, 951 Aqua Wax, and 921 Fast clean and shine

Also fitted Continental ExtremeContact DW's to the front. They are a lower profile and has alleviated the scrubbing issue, despite lowering the front coils by 4 full turns. Wheels also look a bit better and front and rear looks more even (sidewall).
Tyres are great too. and plenty of outright grip in wet and dry. Even tracks very straight over big puddles or bodies of water.

        Pics from VW Nationals 2012
I actually won the best Mk4 category (although there wasn't a huge turnout (from watercooled VW's anyway).

        Thanks for visiting.

        Have a good one!

Your R is looking very agressive with the SSR's.

Hope both our cars will be there next year!!

Car looked great at the Nationals. I've been meaning to ask you: How did you run staggered tyres with the 4Motion system, or was that just for show?

                  Thanks mate.
I've always run staggered with every aftermarket set. There aren't any issues on the 4motion, as long as you keep rolling circumferences within 3% of each other. Its at 1.7% diff atm.

Umm, not sure if this is the most appropriate area to post.

Decide whether you want matched springs and shocks, or jsut springs. coilovers are another option. ensure all bushes are in top condition too. upgrading sway bars are also a great way and good value without changing the ride too much.
