hello all

just picked up my first VW - a MY08 Jetta turbo DSG. one owner with 30k kms and a full solitaire service history. got a DSG despite their seemingly bad reputation as a secondhand buy. was considering purchasing a new 118TSI Golf but wanted something with a bit more power (especially after coming from modified cars with >200kw ATW).

plans at the moment are to get iPod integration, bluetooth and satnav of some sort, otherwise keep the car stock.

Welcome to the forum and nice purchase. And I wouldn't worry about the DSG. It's easy to read the forums and hear all the bad stories but remember there are thousands of DSG owners out there that are very happy with their gearbox and have never had a problem.
