New to watercooled

Hi, i recently sold my beetle and decided to look into watercooled vws. Been thinking of a Mark 1 golf as my next car as it seems like a good base for what i have in mind. Have been looking at this forum for a while and all the awesome mark 1 golf projects being posted around, some amazing work there and i hope that i can be able to start a small project of my own.

Hi!

I upgraded from a Beetle to a Mk1 a few years ago. A bit step up in terms of comfort, power etc, but it's still a 30 year old car and has all the pitfalls and joys of a car that age. Main thing I'd recommend is a brake upgrade as standard Mk1 brakes are virtually non-existant by modern standards.
