Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Soon to be MkVI GTi owner

    Hi Everyone,

About to pull the trigger on a new GTi under the drive-away pricing promotion. Just sorting out options and trying to get the best price. Have a thread in the Golf section asking about alterations to the cloth seating.

Will post more in this thread as I get new info.

      Thanks mate,

Have driven my brother in laws Mk V a few times and found it to be a great car. After looking around at the very crowded hot hatch segment it seems to be the most complete package. Have already benefited from the accumulated knowledge base of vwwatercooled with the discount calculator, but most importantly jords pointed out in my other thread that the bolstering is adjustable, which will mean the wife is happy for me to buy the GTi. I couldn't believe I didn't think to look and the salesman didn't mention it when we mentioned how tight/hard they felt.

Just working out now whether to lease or buy outright, hence the early morning post.
