QLD Went out for lunch and bought a car - New Golf R

Hi there

Went out for lunch on Tuesday, decided after that to check out some cars, nothing more, so stopped off first at Renault for a look at the Megane RS Trophee. Then went past BMW as it was on the other side of the road and went to VW with BMW planned after that on the way home. Saw a nice 3dr white R DSG with leather, satnav, sunroof, some other gear and black wheels. Went for a spin and bought it. My wife & I both like the white with black wheels and bits theme and certainly cheaper than the M3 I was looking at next, much to my wifes delight haha.

Previously had an 02STi that was pretty well modiifed with Motec, suspension, turbo, etc, etc, and funnily enough bought that on a whim on the way to the home show back in 02. Have done a bit of motorsport - trackwork at QR mainly but also a fair bit of motorkhana which I enjoyed more in the end.

Anyway I'm away for work for another 4 weeks and my lucky wife gets to pick up the R next week.

Yeah I learnt my lesson years ago going shopping for a shirt. Walked around Pac Fair all day and ended up buying the shirt I first tried on earlier in the day some 4 hours earlier.....if you want it, get it.

Cheers. Good price, yeah I guess, got them down a bit, liked it so bought it This had 108km on the clock, came up from Melbourne they said with another 5dr silver wheel model.

Edit: Had BBQ octopus and Seafood Chowder down at Georges Paragon at Tallebudgera - extremely well priced.

Looked great and had all the bits, did it have ACC?

Dealt with a new girl Alice/Alyce. Needs to know her product better & also needs better mentoring from her superiors - two fold problem but can be fixed......

Doesn't have ACC, would have swapped that for the sunroof if Samantha from Bewitched was on hand but that's life.

My wife doesn't pick it up till next week and then I'm not home for anther 4 weeks from now anyway But looking very forward to exploring it when I get home

Thanks Bluefrog & DonJuan. She's getting excited as this will be her first new car Kind of glad she gets to pick it up too in that regard, it will also be her first drive of it too haha.
