Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi Guys

The names Grant and i'm from sunny South Africa.

I've been browsing and reading up on this forum for quite some time, getting lots of ideas and info, so eventually joined your community. I'm a serious motoring fanatic with a soft spot for VW's. Im very involved with the local VWCSA, Have been on the committee for 2 years now, and will be running for a 3rd.

My first ride was a 2007 VW Velociti 1.6i, As some will know it was a Mk1 golf locally manufactured for years here in SA. I had to sell her as insurance companies was raping me and was not affordable anymore at the time. It had full Koni sport suspension setup and a 57mm Wildcat f/f system, which was sold to 'dood9n3' who also browses this forum.
    I do miss her alot

Anyway, on to better things, I then purchased my current ride, a 2006/7 9n3 polo 1.9TDI sportline, its been tweaked a bit. mostly cosmetically, and keeping it OEM as possible.

Major things that has been done,
    H&R's springs - 17" OZ "VW Crosspolo" wheels - Seat Sport Strut brace - PD160 intake - rear wiper delete - Seat Cupra Lip - stage 1 Revo - pgti sideskirts/roof spoiler/rear valance/tail pipes/steering wheel/head lights - some paint on some bits.

and a lot more to come. I'm waiting for my ARK design MFD to arrive and I have collected some bits from scrap yards to redo the interior/roof lining in black as per GTI's, Just a shame we don't get 2dr Pgti's in SA would have made life a little easier.

Here's a pic of when i got her:

    And as she currently stands

    Thats it for now

    Cheers
    G
