Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New to watercooled forum from WA

Hi all, my name is Pieter. We moved from South Africa to AUS two years ago. Needless to say we are vw fanatics. We are busy with a 1995 Seat Ibiza Gti. We fitted a 2 liter 16v turbo engine and are almost finished with the project. I will post some pictures of what we have completed.

are you doing anything else performance wise?

    Look forward to the pics

Hi there Gareth. We have rebuild a complete new motor gasflowed the cylinderhead, left the cams and valves standard.made up a new intake manifold, fuel rail and all fuel components upgraded. We had to redo the exhaust manifold, the branch manifold did not fit. Made up the new down pipe and waste gate pipe work. Will be running a after market management system. The car is almost done, would have been finished but the block we had from south africa came from vw motorsport sa, most of the attachments did not line up or their were no threaded holes in the block. I will try and load pictures today.
