Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Newbie from South Africa

    Hi there.

My name is Dewald, I'm 27 and from sunny South Africa. I saw some links to this site from vwclub.co.za and decided to join you guys.

I'm a huge vw fan and currently own 4.

My daily is a 2009 Golf 6 TSI with 18" scirocco rims.

My toy is a 2007 polo Gti with Seat intercooler, snowperformance water/meth, 4bar fpr, audi s3 injectors, audi s3 maf,
etuners software, forge dv, samco tip, Seat cupra lip, H&R 40mm drop, 76mm downpipe, 63mm exhaust, ko3s hybrid turbo.

My weekend toy that I'm currently rebuilding is a 1980 golf mk1 with 15" ronal turbo rims on 165/50/15 bridgestones,2.0 8v
ADY motor with 83mm KS pistons, 288 schrick cam, lightened flywheel, balanced bottom, baffled sump, 35mm stainless
exhaust valves, flowed head, koni coilovers, leather interior.

My other car that is a very long ongoing project is a 1984 golf mk1 with a ABF 16v turbo motor, but this car has been
standing for the past 3 years.

Some pics for clicks. I have full build threads on the vwclub.co.za, I will post them up if anybody is interested.

    My silver mk1 abf turbo

My brown mk1 that is 90% finished with the rebuild. This pic was before I redid the interior, the respray and the Ronals.

My G6, the only pic I have at the moment, G6 was fitted with 18" Oettinger rims here.

      Thanks buddy.

I really cant wait to get my polo gti back from my tuner, they busy fitting the ko3s hybrid turbo so I don't even know what power she is making yet.

      Will know this coming Saturday.
