VIC Potential New Jetta owner

Hi All

My wife is interested in the new Jetta. We drove a 118 Comfortline on Saturday and was pleased with it. Now to shop around and do the sums! Would have liked to sample the TDI but in reality probably don't do the km's to justify the extra $$

Good one, you didn't waste any time shopping around, lol. I've done quite a few k's in a family member's jetta, albeit a TDI, and I'm sure both of you will love it.

No we didn't. She has wanted one for a couple of years and I didn't really expect it to take so long for the new model to hit these shores. No trade in involved so made the shopping process in comparing apples with apples alot easier and quicker. Just had to work through the games they play (but that is not just limited to VW dealerships.) She is very excited and I'm sure she will love it.

Did you consider anything else,and what car did your wife drive before ???

She has chosen the black pearl one. I liked the Red, and the Tempest Blue may have been an option if we could have seen it beforehand. We test drove a few vehicle in the last couple of months ( so whilst a quick decision , the process did take a while) Amongst those included the Lancer, ASX, Renault Megane and Mazda 3. The latter 2 were quite good, the Mitsi's - rubbish. Only other I would have added to the list was the new Focus, but in the end her heart was and has been for some time set on a Jetta and it was a matter of waiting for it's release and ensuring it ticked the boxes. For her it is a big step up from her 2000 Honda Civic which is well loved but passing on to my son now as his first car!
It was I think 2-4 month wait to get one with a sunroof so we have elected to not worry about it this time around

In the end, bought from Barlo's in Glen Waverley. Will add pictures when we get it ( and I work out how to!)

Picked up the new car Friday night... Wife is very happy with it. Had the windows tinted on Sat morning so looking even better. Busy weekend so no chance for a decent drive although we racked up 300 km's on it! Took some photo's but left camera at home.. so will upload when i can!

Arma .. in Berwick (they actually do the dealer cars anyway but dealing direct saves lots of $$$) I had them do my Sante Fe 4 years ago and it's still looks great.

$295 for the Sonic ( I think that's what its called) I didnt bother pricing it at VW but I think it is something like $795 from the dealer.. why would you?
