Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Looking forward to the reads and contributing to the V-Dub community.

    I must say I was apprehensive about going the path of a diesel, but here I am, with my 2.0 TDI and loving it.

    What model of VW do you have, there are quite a few with the 2.0TDI
    My Tiguan TSI APR Stg2 + RPF1's

      It is a leap of faith, even for those who should know.

      It has to do with the fact that if you go with a petrol engine and it goes horribly wrong, then you are just unlucky, whereas if you go with a diesel engine and it goes horibly wrong, it is YOU who made the decision.

      Much easier to go the same way as you have before, but not necessarily the right decision

        Hi storfix, I'm on my third diesel (2 of them dubs) and I reckon they're great. Heaps of low-down torque that continues to do its thing as the revs increase. It's a more subtle power source, and one that provides very flexible driving. The 2 litre diesel donk is a winner (well - for me at least)!

          Team_v - I've got an MKV 2.0 TDI.

          The reason I did go with the diesel is because I wanted the low down torque and more realistically, I had to go the diesel cos the missus is still on her Ps. So I do have envious eyes for the GTI and would have gone for that off the bat.

          For the extra few 1000s you dish out you're getting the better brakes, the extra horsies, the bigger rims, etc.

          Any of you know any 2.0 TDI members with quality mods?

            Welcome to the diesel gang, plenty of knowledge on here, lots you can do to get your TDI running very, very well, and all at incredible economy for the power.

              Incredible economy for the power is what I'm all about. The diesel dudes need to be more active than the petrol heads!
