Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    hi folks
I was wondering if anyone else got strange directions from their sat nav IE " continue on this road for a long time"
also the systems developed a lisp , could it be possessed?

also the system holds phone calls even though both I and the caller has hung up as a result I cant get the nav screen back, I have to stop, turn off the car, remove the key then restart to get my nav screen back

Sometimes they play up so give it a reboot.

Hold down the <rewind>, <forward> and <i> key next to the DVD slot to reboot. If you are driving while you do that, the last position will be where you pressed the keys, so it will take a few minutes to find itself.

I have to reboot mine occasionally, typically, after shutting the car down then 10 minutes later restarting, there is no navigation displayed in the MDI. A reboot fixes that.

A reboot doesn't fix the voice though.

          the plot thickens

one theory is that because the car has both a kumfatec Bluetooth set up and a sat nav system which also has Bluetooth, there may be a conflict, I took it the the workshop at Chatswood Classic today, no fault codes appeared

You can turn off the TP system in the setup menu. When I experimented with mine, I got the dings too when the signal level dropped off (away from Melbourne).

"continue on this road for long time" is standard instruction. No turns in the near future.....
