NSW Newbie waiting on a new Golf GTI...first VW too!

Hi all,

Have been following the forum for a while whilst deciding on a new car, ordered a new Golf GTI DSG last week and pick-up on Monday, can't wait!

This is my first VW so the forum has been very helpful so far, thanks.

Looking forward to upgrading from the blue oval to a much better marque!

It's a 5dr, Tornado Red, BT, MDI, Rear Sensors. Minimal options so the car was available pretty quick, I don't think I could have waited 6 months, 1 week is long enough!

Welcome. I did the same for the same reason about 2 months ago. Did the deal and got the car in 2 weeks. Having a great time with it after around 4,000kms. 1 week will fly by. BTW where did you get it from?

Thats good to hear, I see you went for red too, the demo was great to drive so can't wait to have some fun in my own, already planning a few weekend drives to break her in!

Ordered from Chatswood, I spoke with a few dealers and Chatswood had the best deal and also were the most friendly/honest to deal with.

I got mine from Chatswood too, Jadd was the salesperson. They were good to deal with, close to my office and gave me the best deal by far. A few other dealers seemed keen at first, but wouldn't give me a decent trade-in price. I ended up with a TR Adidas. Wasn't sure about the seats at first, but they have grown on me .... they make it stand out a bit more. The LED DRLs and tails are awesome. IMO red is the best colour, I used to have a TR GT TSI, '07 model for the last 3 years and loved it. The new GTI definately has more grunt, but is also very solid and refined.

Hi Guys Im a newbie as well Im still waiting for my GTI should land tomorrow so will be behind the wheel by the end of the month.
A friend got his in march and loves it had it up to 195kms on weekend and still plenty left yeeha.I had nothing but crap from chatswood I think cause i ws a chick. Had beeen to barloworld mascot and not impressed but went back and the sales manager Oli Lum is so helpful so I think i got a good deal. Just proves it all about the person you deal with not the dealership . kate
