Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi all,

I became a VAG owner for the first time last year. This is my wife's daily drive and more fun for me to drive than my CX7.

I am currently looking into getting a new Golf as my next car. Already peeking at this forum has been extremely illuminating about the differences between the GTI and the R.

BTW the first car I was ever a passenger in was my father's VW 1500 sedan (aircooled of course). I bet he regretted selling his Karman Ghia before he got married.

    Cheers,
    Howard

Thanks for the welcome guys. I will keep an eye out for the euro meets then.

I read half your Tiguan thread last night team_v. Its got me thinking about other options as the CX7 goes when the new car arrives. Best case is in the next few months, worst case is when the Audi lease is up in about 2 years.

I have a few Tiguan and DSG questions which I will search for the answers for or post up in the right forum.

About my A4 (which I let my wife drive to work each day). Sweet 1.8 TFSI with upgrades to:
        factory 17" wheels
        comfort pack/electric seat
paddle shift steering wheel (virtually never used the CVT is so good and eight gears is too many to keep count).
        walnut trim

Bought near new with 32 months warranty remaining from Audi Melbourne for a great price and trucked up to Brisbane. Ironically it was originally sold on the Sunshine Coast.
