hey guys my name is matt tully (aka choco) and i live in mount gambier. as we are between melbourne and adelaide there arent as many vw enthusiests around to help out with parts and advice. the internet is my saviour
i have had bugs and various other vw for around 17 years and have recently bought a 76 mk1 golf, my first water cooled vw.
it has 87000km on it trim is original, body is reasonally straight, it has had a hit in the rear and a small hit in the front, nothing major as i was a panel beater for 10 years. paint looks good from 10m away and needs attention. motor/gbox/brakes are good but i do have to replace the rocker cover gasket.
the window rubbers are all gonna get replaced as they have perished and the 1/4 vent windows have been glued (badly) shut.
so i do have a few jobs to do on it but it is an awsome project and awsome little car.
the reason for buying it was for my daughter to learn to drive in it as i didnt think my bug would be suitable.
my list of other cars are :1958 bug (under resto)
    :1958 based manx
    :1960 bug (daily driver)
    :1970 kombi camper (under resto)
:1978 mercedes 300d (needs a tidy up but was my daily till the bug came along)
    :late 60's early 70's fiat 850 2 door sedan
    :honda cx500 (motorbike)
:07 ford fairmont ghia (wifes car/tow vehicle)
    oh and the golf
i will be on here looking for parts and advice, so please be patient as i may ask stupid questions from time to time
