As expected, I went back the day after it ran out and got the software flashed, also got the Carbonio intake installed. So theoretically now boasting around 195kW and 420Nm (or so...), a nice bit of induction spool noise, and plenty of "whoosh" and "flutter" sounds (but not too loud). Took it for a bit of a strap up Mt Nebo Road today, nipping at the heels of some lads on crotch rockets. Besides the straight line performance, it blows me away how well it handles for a FWD, clearly a class above the "competition".

I was very impressed by the professionalism and knowledge of Guy and James at HP and would have no hesitation in recommending them. Having been involved in modified car scene a few years ago, and working at a performance workshop during high school, it is very refreshing to see a performance workshop taking a proper engineering approach to their work, rather than "blunt instrument" fabrication and mechanical.

      Hi guys,

Just saying hi, my name is Toby, I'm from Brisbane. I've had my GTI for about a week and loving it to bits. Such a brilliant car. I did my research and looked at/test drove WRX STI, Lancer EVO, Renault Megane RS, Focus XR5 turbo, Mazda MPS - none of them were in the same league as the GTI in terms of an all-round package of performance, handling, safety, comfort, technology, fuel economy, value retention and great styling. At the end of the day, the GTI is based on an excellent car to begin with, whereas the others are all based on (arguably) cheap, plasticky, basic vehicles.

I don't have any plans to modify it at all at this stage, if I do it would be limited to maybe an exhaust system, tinted windows, and some roof racks for my mountain bike.

      2011 Golf GTI DSG "Adidas"-
      - All the usual GTI features, plus:
      - Unique 18" wheels
      - Bi-xenon headlights (I think they are the "R" headlights, with the LED daytime running lights, but not sure...)
      - LED tail lights, same as "R" but not as tinted
      - Leather bolstered red and black seats with white stripes
      - Golf ball textured gear knob
      - Premium bluetooth
      - MDI

Unfortunately it didn't come with a matching Adidas tracksuit which I am totally miffed about! That would have just been too cool!

Anyway, you will probably hear from me again in due course.

      Cheers!

      Toby
Would That be the one I see parked in AIF in the Valley? I keep seeing it when I get there for an evening session but never see the driver. Might run into you at some stage! Good to see another dubber doing the fitness thing!

Definitely looks the goods Tobes! Reminds me more than a bit of my own beast.

Now all you need to do is lose the front plate holder and replace it with a Lakin Bracket!

Wow, that thing is so sweet! Very jealous. It's a pity you didn't get a tracksuit to match the seats, from someone's rearview mirror it would look like a floating head is driving the car

Good call on the plate bracket. I'm getting some perspex plates made up in a couple of weeks, so I'll see what I can do RE the bumper attachment. It would be good to get rid of that unsightly grey plastic thing!!

Went for a run up Mt Nebo, Mt Glorious and back on Saturday. Took a couple of photos at one of the lookouts along the way. They're just taken with my Samsung Galaxy S2 so no professionals here!! The roads were pretty wet so the car is quite dirty.

Was a very enjoyable drive, even taking it relatively easy and sticking to the posted speed limits (but not necessarily the "advisory" corner speed signs....). Beautiful scenery, hardly any other vehicles on the road.

She's a beauty! Did you change the bulbs for the fogs? If so, what did you go with?

Interesting to see how the colour changes with the surrounding light, the last 2 shots look almost pink.

Yes I have, they are LED H8 lamps. (each lamp has 102 x SMD chip LED's)

Yes now that you mention it! It could also have something to do with the quality of the camera and/or when it gets dusty it tends to get that pinky tinge to it, probably a combination of the red paint and brownish dirt?

I have a TR (mk5 though) and with my old Galaxy S2 cam it was the same - happens in outdoor lighting when it is bright but not very sunny. Time to upgrade to the S3
