Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hey Guys, I've been lurking this forum for quite some time now and thought it'd be about time I started contributing. I came into the ownership of a Golf Mark V 2.0 FSI (non-turbo). Took me years to save up for it and I'm pretty shattered its not a GTI but the p-plate laws mean I've got to make the most of this car.

    Mods: Roof racks, R36 18" rims, lowered to the extent that tyre rub is getting annoying and of course p-plate standard issue: sub and amp.

    Ive already bought a SuperSprint exhaust but that is yet to be installed as the parts are still on their way In a bit of a pickle with this because I don't have any exhaust cutouts on the current valance, so I'm going to have to switch to a GTI bumper before that arrives.


    Mods I hope to complete are: R32 taillights, colour coding of the mascara (seems expensive though).

    hey mate how did you lower the car, just springs ? come for a cruise sunday?

      Yeh, just the springs. Looks killer but now that i've moved up to Syd, where the roads are half made, i'm coming to regret it as you notice the stiffness of the ride a whole lot more than in melb. I can live with it though. I'm working on Sunday but I have no idea where the cruise is.

        well if you cant make sunday can you make one in 2 weeks time? 7th august. check the threads titled cruise sunday 24th in the meetings/ blub section. i wanna have a look at your ride height/ wheels/ scrubbage.
