  • NSW VW Polo window leak!!!

I own a VW Polo 1999 5 door hatch. After having my front passanger window repaired the window has begun to leak.
It seems that the outside window scraper (I think thats what its called) has been damaged and water seeps into the hollow of the passanger door and leaks into my car. When there is heavy rain it drowns the inside of my car
I am trying to repair the problem myself but am having problems finding where to get a VW window scraper and secondly not
sure how to install the new scraper. Help, please....

hi Kdm , i have the same car and same prob.
doubt that a new window scraper will completely fix it (but go ahead and replace if its damaged or faulty) all window have some degree of leakage - the most important thing is to make sure the water can get out of the door and not into your foot well.
Open your door and lay on the ground, peel back the black rubber door seal - ther are 3 oval holes approx 15 mm long - poke a metal rod/coat hanger etc through to clear any of the holes of debree and give them a clean with a scrunning brush - may also be a good idea to cut /trim the rubber seal to prevent it blocking the hole and free flow of water through the door. (if it keeps blocking up you may need to remove the door trim and inner cover to clean inside the door.

they also may leak from the cabin/pollin filter under the bonnet (if car is leaking from behingd the dash onto passenger feet...drip drip)
you need to remoce the fiter top cover /then filter/then lower housing whish is hel in be 2 nuts) clean the old seal from the body and housing and reseal with silicone or similar - reassemble then allow to dry.

    hope this may help you
