NSW Brian from Sydney - looking at Polo Gti, Golf Gti & Gti 35

Hi Guys

Been lurking for a while and found your posts very helpful and informative.

Currently driving a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer ES, which was never going to be an inspirational car but has its merits as a cheap and cheerful run-about.

I've had my heart set on a WRX for years but over the last year or so I've started falling out-of-love with it.

I'm currently sizing up a new "Gti" of some sort but VW is doing their best to put me off with awful waiting lists (1 year for a new Golf GTi, 16 months for a Polo Gti) and, dare I say it, a shade of dealer arrogance. Because of that I'm still considering an RS 250 and a WRX.

That said, the GTI 35 is promising and I was told by a dealer yesterday that Australia will only be getting 200 (2 per dealership) despite the media reporting that they aren't a limited edition. Any else heard this?

HI Brian u have me worried now seen a few posts on here saying a i year to 16 months wait i was told by my dealer tweed vw that mine would take 8 months i ordered a black 5 door with bixenon and comfort pac hope he isnt bull****ting i will not be to happy after 8 months to find out i have another 8 months to go vw dealers need to get real and stop bull****ting to us or just take them off the market and stop teasing us lol drew
