Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hey Guys Bought a new GTI last month was told delivery would be September. Is this usual for anything VW ?

    Welcome to the forums.

Last month being June, and September being only 3 months from that date, you are very lucky to get it that quick!
Being that teleporters are still works of fiction, it takes roughly 1 week to build the car, 2 months in shipping and 3 weeks in compliance and pre-delivery etc.

Therefore 3 months is "best case" for a car from Germany.

        It's completely up to you.
There are so many great options for the GTI.
I'd thoroughly recommend the RVC, simply because the view out the back of a Golf isn't great, and at night it's tragic (only has a single reverse light too) but the RVC can see in the dark. You then need the RCD510 or RNS510 though...

Hey Guys only 30 sleep till Im behind the wheel ...very excited .
has anyone found the same drama reversing at night as Corey mentioned???
and if so is the RCV worth the freight?
