Very new to all of this...signed up 5 minutes ago not knowing what to do next! Bought an '08 Volkswagen Golf 1.9 TDI edition currently on P-plates. The Golf really stood out to me and i've always wanted one..so decided to buy this beauty. Info on my car:

silver in colour, bumpers all colour coded silver (left the rear bumper black)

im new too,
our cars sound matching, 18's and colour coded everything silver.
bov on a tdi is pointless, also dont get a k & n filter for the tdi mine actually lost power with one. also wouldnt bother with cams. everything else sounds decent. if you wanna run to newy i know some good mountain driving,

thanks for commenting goood to hear suggestions to similar tdi drivers..do you recommend fitting a cold air intake? I've been looking for one everywhere but cant find one..can you help me?
i might head up to newy maybe we can go for a run

cold air im not sure, i have modified my air box , ran a fair bit better and now makes a nice wooshy sound. people look at me with a wtf face. aFe make good intakes. bout $300 bucks i believe. bit ugly though but apparently they work.

going for a run this sunday meeting at wyong at 10am heading out to the mountains.

have a look through the diesel section. youll find alot of the mods youve listed will cost heaps and really not do much for you. especially being a 1.9. the turbo in 1.9 is a little baby. and to upgrade it would mean a custom intake manifold, cold air intake, custom intercooler, and all sorts of other ****. itd be illegal more than likely and a huge insurance hassle if anything happened, especially on p's. i just got off mine but im still treading lightly.

id stick to the 2" catback.
cold air ( gotta be really careful how its built as if ANY hot air gets in it runs like a dog. a really old slow dog.

Okay so i havent visited my ancient thread in a while so im just letting everyone now im still alive! The 1.9 tdi is running quite good i absolutely love the car (but was in a stage where i was deciding on purchasing an r32 golf over the tdi ), the current mods my car has are:
-18" black racing rims with red trimming
-Repainted red brake calipers
-compressed springs (saving up towards coilovers OR airbag suspension)
-painted engine cover rocket red
-custom 2" catback exhaust

not much but its work in progress..just finished my HSC so havent worked but am back in the game!

really curious how the exhaust sounds, is it any louder?
how low did you get it with reset springs?
do you have a dpf? the down pipe would be an awesome mod, I've been considering it but the dp is about 700 i think
black tails are in my room whacking them in this week sometime.
I'm doing a gti rear soon as well.
our cars are going to be VERY similar! mines faster though
