Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hello all!

    Hello all,

    I am the happy owner of a VW Golf VI 103TDI DSG with the sport pack. I did a lot of research, and ended up with the car three days ago. I'm pretty stoked with it! I'm still learning and discovering little things, and reading a lot of the forums to find out even more. So far, so good, though the ashtray cover has managed to break, but even then I found some info on here about other people's experiences with it so I'm not alone

    Welcome bowie... sorry about your ashtray. Everrrry little bit and bob can be found on Ebay though.

      I have another question: not sure if it should go straight in the audio section or not so I'm going to try it out here:

      My Mk VI golf (MY11) came with the RCD310 + mdi, and the dealer fitted bluetooth. All it does is pair with the car and let me answer calls - there are no other functions.

      I've spotted a fancier bluetooth system that integrates the phone with the trip computer screen but this seems to be only for the RCD510/RNS510 headunit. Am I right in thinking you can't have fancy bluetooth functions with the RCD310?

      I'm probably going to upgrade to an RCD510 soon anyway, but I just wanted to ask what is probably quite a n00b question.
