Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    VIC Iphone4 and Bluetooth

    2011 Golf VW Bluetooth car kit will not work with my iPhone 4. Is this a fixable problem?

    Which part code is Your BT control unit? It should be 7P6035730D or 5N0035730D or 3C8035730D

      We were told by a VW dealer that the VW bluetooth will not work with iphone4. They were pushing another brand at the time.

        Lies. My MY11.5 factory bluetooth works perfectly with my iPhone 4 (first go) set up through the MDI. I suggest updating your iPhone software?

          ok... maybe i should've been more specific. When we enquired it was mid 2010.... so dont know if they were referring to just what was out then (or trying to milk more money by pushing us toward a more expensive product)... and i can only go on what i was told as i have no personal experience with bluetooth.

            I've been told the same thing up here.The $1800 VW kit is not compatible with an iPhone 4 and is only with Nokia.

            I don't know....
