Hi all,
I picked up my Mk6 GTI today.
It's a MY11.5 5dr Carbon Steel, with DSG, Detroits, Bluetooth, RNS510, and some Euro plates fitted. I'm 'easeup', and Perth's my home...
All i can say so far is... holy shiet. It's beautiful. I've been driving around all afternoon, obsessing over every sweet pop of the DSG, caressing the steering wheel and generally ignoring the break-in period guidelines. My previous (and first) car was a MY08 base model Subaru Impreza, and of course, there's no comparison. The dub just oozes quality. I think the high point of today's excitement came on my third little drive, night had fallen by this stage. I unlocked the car from the front porch in the dark, and the headlights automatically shone to guide my way. Then on the drive i realised the rear-vision mirror is auto-dimming- fantastic. Later on i wanted some dinner, looked up the restaurant on the RNS510, clicked the phone icon.. and was suddenly speaking to them.. through my car. Big novelty for me... "Open the pod bay doors, HAL..." Then of course it directed me there, and i went FAST. Because race car!!
Osborne Park VW in Perth were brilliant. Great deal on the car, great trade in price on the Subaru, and good service all round. They were also able to order and fit an RNS510 as part of the deal, all in under a fortnight. The only little problem i have is that my steering wheel volume controls work, but the previous/next track doesn't. Coding issue? The directions don't show up in the MFD either, but i don't really care.
This forum has been has been a huge help in every step of my decision making process. Hope i can become a useful contributor. I leave you with some pictures of my ride...
