Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • WA Hey

    Hi all,

picked up my 2002 MK4 GTI almost two years ago and absolutely love it. Have always wanted one and so was very happy to purchase this as my first car (at 22). Sadly I fear a pending world trip may mean I have to swap to something cheaper to run and maintain, and inevitable less fun to drive , though i've no doubt that there will be other golfs in the future.

Anywho I will enjoy this great little car whilst I have it.

      welcome aboard!

mk 4 GTIs are relatively cheap these days, are you planning to replace it with a bicycle?

Welcome mate, just saw your other posts about suspension etc... I'm just about to click over 100k on the original shocks in my GTI. The shocks & bushes do need to be replaced but it has been lowered from stock so that does make them wear out faster. General servicing isn't too expensive so hopefully you won't need to downgrade in order to save for your holiday
