  • QLD Hi all

    Hi my name is Greg

im in the process of trading to get a Golf VI TSI90 Trendline. its a big change from what i have (SS VE ute 302rwkw & 670nm) ive always liked Golfs 'the original hot hatch' but im doing this out of cost of running lol as i do a 110k round trip to work on the M1 & the V8 costs about $60 every 3 or 4 days lol. but i know i will look at making golf look better (mags, tint etc) but ima thinking not much can be done to performance but i want good economy anyway.
i would have loved to have a GTI but didnt want to borrow any money so best i could do was a straight swap for the ute. in a coupla years when this loan is paid off i will be borrowing money for a "westfield" aka caterham copy. as i want a fun car & even though the ute had plenty of power i just wasnt fun per'se. i had a 2000 lancer inbetween V8s & it was a blast to me this is what driving is about fun factor not really power

    regards Greg aka Smokey

    Welcome Greg.
Hopefully you can get what you are after.

I spoke to Andrew J at Highway Auto (Springwood) and he did a great deal for me.
Hope we can get you to the Euro meet's when you pick it up.

      Hi thanks for the welcome

ive just read my earlier post & i sound dissapointed lol well which is not the case. im dissapointed i couldnt (didnt want to spend more) & get a GTI with DSG. the one im getting is 6 speed manual, candy white. and im looking forward to getting it. the car went well on test drive but my god how "light" is everything compared to my ute accelerator, brake clutch everything. plus it will take a while to get used to blinker being on left side. when i was driving it still had all writing on dash in german so that was funny. but once i get mags & tint ill come to a Euro meet

          thanks Don

ya i never found it (ute) heavy just just was stunned by Golfs lightness lol. i think ill enjoy it but it will be weird to have a car that i cant really do performance mods to (just changing cam (baby) & tune in ute gave 302rwkw). just thinking that little 1.4 turbo could be at its limits haha. i mean it will never be quick but i dont really want to do alot to it and not the reason im getting it for. will try to make it look nice atleast

Hi all i got the 90tsi very good little car great quality even goes alright for what it is with that cute tiny little turbo on it. Only dissapointing thing about car is the really yellowy lights im gonna have to buy some 50+ bulbs for it and eventually upgrade to some of those projector lights ive seen on web.

Bulbs are an easy upgrade to fix your problem.
