Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Happy new Sydney Golf GTI owner!

    Hi guys,

After a long car search we recently bought a new carbon steel Golf GTI. This is the fourth Golf in the family and the second GTI (first was a MkIV 1.8 turbo). Loving it so far with one minor niggle to sort (creaky driver's side door). The DSG is probably the biggest win so far, closely followed by the 'big car' feel to the interior and features. The first upgrade will likely be a nice set of 18s or 19s to replace the stock 17s.

Looking forward to chatting more on the forum!

Good be interested! Other rims for consideration are the R8 V10s, and some Talladega Golf R ones too. I've also seen a lovely variation of the Talladegas at Tempe Tyres.

I want some Talladega on mine only 18s tho, 19s might be too harsh for me lol, reckon they would look schmick!

yep, would look awesome, although I'm concerned 19s might rub on the GTI. Trying to hunt down some proper details.
