Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC New VW tragic

    Hi all,

My first VW was a 2 door golf I, many years ago. My wife & I got back into VWs when she bought a Golf IV Sport which was a great car. She then upgraded to a Passat TDI.

At a later upgrade she bought a Passat CC, and the dealers happened to have a couple of 2006 R32s on the floor. I drove one and immediately decided it was the best replacement for a 10 year old Peugeot MI16 that, till then I, thought was a great drivers car (though a little unreliable). As a result we came home with a Passat CC TDI and a Golf R32 2 door DSG. We have been hooked on VWs ever since.

I retired 2 years ago and have added a T5 4motion camper van to our "stable". I joined the VWwatercooled forum while making a sump guard for that. I am still involved in motor sport and the rally scene and our cars have played an important role in that involvement.

I want to add my thanks to all those who contribute to the impressive array of VW knowledge in the forum.

    Cheers

    Peter.
    Peter
