  • New Vic nothing special but VW regardless

    Hi All,

Just acquired me a 2006 VW golf trendline 1.6L, hence why I say nothing special. I have never been a full on car enthusiast and my previous ride was a VP commodore which I modified slightly. I like to muck around with the car myself intake and minor engine mods as well as exterior visual. A friend of mine referred me to this site he was part of Honda and now Suzuki. I suppose my main reason for joining is to get some advice on minor things I can do to this little 1.6l to give it a little more grunt and also look sleek. I do not wish to lower debadge or slap rims on it, also do not want to compromise fuel efficiency too much either (I have really ruled out everything haha) also prior to purchasing it had the Automatic transmition changed and don't know if this is a result of this but I hear a loud knock when I put un reverse and start reversing, hopefully someone has some insight.

Finally also want to find cheap parts I have 2 broken vents.

    Thanks guys..

The only thing I would do is change the standard hubcaps, but get a nice set of origional VW alloys,ex Golf or Jetta...

Factory alloys are always best and look and tidy. There are many out there fit a reasonable cost

Welcome Alex86. I agree with the above two posts. Factory gear looks great, not unique but definitely neat.

IMHO after market alloys tend to cheapen the cars, thats why I like origional VW ones which look best...
