driving the other day i heard a loud clunk noise so i got it checked out by my bf and the engine is snapped off the block.. 2 bolts have snapped off in it and the easy out also snapped in it so my engine is now hanging on one side im not sure what can be done now.
Easy outs can be drilled out, then a tap run through the hole to fix the thread, or a helicoil put in to repair the thread too. Do you have any pics of the damage? Have you had a mechanic check out the damage yet?
Also, what is your engine code? You will need to know this to find out what bracket you need by the looks of the link you posted.
By the sound of what you are saying, I think you have only busted and engine mount...
BTW, the block and the engine are the same thing... Do you know what has snapped off what??

oops
ive been told its a broken engine mounting ear.
im pretty sure the bolts are snapped in the block now
going to see if i can find the engine code now
Hahahaha, all good...If it's just an engine mount, it's probably and easy fix. The link you listed if an after market item, but you will het away with it cheaper with a stock engine mount over here.
If you can get down to Campbelltown, ring up Matt at Camden GTI (golfloon is his forum name on this site). He may have one in stock down there, and he will be able to diagnose the problem alot better. Were you able to get pictures of the problem??
