  • NSW Just another Rising Blue Golf R...

    Hi,

I'm Daniel, I'm from Sydney, N.S.W. and I just picked up my new Volkswagen Golf R in Rising Blue this morning. Options are:
    • DSG
    • Adaptive Chassis Control
    • Sunroof
    • RNS-510 Satnav
    • 19" Black Talladega's
    • MDI
    • Rear View Camera
    • Bluetooth

After driving it for pretty much the whole day all I can say is what a machine! I am very happy with the build quality of this car. I don't think the smile will ever be wiped off my face. The car feels solid and safe to drive, even in this unfortunate rainy weather we are having in Sydney on this long weekend

I hope to become involved with many cruises and discussions this forum has to offer and hope to meet all of you other Volkswagen enthusiasts!

I just rang a few dealers to find out which ones had the spec I wanted and one had exactly what I wanted. I must say I didn't get too much of a bargain, ended up paying $66k on road.

Just got back from Hunter Valley, gave me the chance to check out the ACC.

Switched it to sports mode, although being impressed, I'm still running in the engine so couldn't push it as much as I would've liked to.

Coming from a Holden Berlina, quality is exceptional in comparison

Almost identical to what I wanted.

Except I'm not a big fan of sunroofs. Is it really a big deal down under?

Congrats on your R mate, nice spec

I like my sunroof, in summer in WA it's too hot to have it open when the sun is overhead, but winter in WA the sun is awesome! also a bit of outside air when it's tilted is nice too. btw it hardly ever rains, so I don't get to utilise the AWD enough

I've never had a sunroof, I've owned quite a few cars and none have had sunroofs, so I decided I wanted a sunroof. In all honesty I love the sunroof, for all those times when you want some fresh air to come in without having to open the windows and have wind hitting your face. Plus for me it really suits the Golf R when you have it tilted up, I reckon it looks sexy. Haven't had the opportunity yet, but I'm sure the sunroof will also come in handy in summer.

In the UK, you have 20 minutes of sun and your summer's over

But they still love convertibles and sunroofs. Perpetual optimists hehe

In Singapore, it's always hot so I can't imagine letting the outside air in.
