Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

hi there, people call me Z cos its easier than my name or nickname... it bothered me before be now i expect it. im from gold coast qld, today im buying and picking up my mk4gti and i think thats why i decided to join as now there is two golf that i own. the other one is mk1 76gls that i've never driven and owned it for two and a bit years, but still it puts smile on my face just thinking of driving it. mk1 needed engine to be fixed and then BAM!!!!!! so as i need something nice with pontential mk4 gti it is, and mk1 project is still going slowly as i believe some of the rust has only been removed and mk3 8v 2L (4 speed as 5 speed mk3 gearbox couldnt fit without me cutting the engine bay )engine conversion has been done to it. but now thinking of pulling the engine and gearbox out as i try to remove all the rust ( not so eager to finish it to quickly as i have a reliable daly ). well thats me hope it wasnt to much info for first post... Z

thanks man... mk4 you will for sure, if I get invited but mk1 might be seen on roads for my fiftieth due to the speed that I'm progressing … so that gives me 20+ years to finish it...
