Hey chaps...
Is time to roll out the intro. Polo GTI only days away now (I hope). I've not really hassled the dealer for updates on delivery times but merely left the spontaneity to the dealer himself and should be expecting a call any day now. Going by some of the posts on this ace forum it cannot be far away. Carrier was estimated to arrive at port on the 24th.
Some of you I'm sure are in the same boat (pardon the pun) and have a better idea of compliance times from arrival but from what I've read it may be 12 days or so if I'm lucky, once off the tank.
A little history...last car I had was a red 93 BMW 318i which I scored super cheap off my old boss ($0 W
W)...sounded like an egg beater after sitting in a garage for 2 years with a sump full of texas gold. Tappets were screwed when I got that car but it just kept on going no matter how hard I flogged it. Before that a black R33 Skyline which was a rocket and by far the most enjoyable car I've ever owned so this new purchase will be interesting to say the least!
Thought I was done with speed machines but after some time away from cars the bug has bitten back so here I am...taking the plunge on a VW Polo GTI and have already purchased new wheels and tyres to compliment.
Look forward to catching some of you on the Melbourne cruises.
