Hi, became a 08 2.0 TSI Jetta owner. Love the car and VW in general. I am originally from South Africa and been in Australia for 5 years now. Previous car was a 05 1.8 corolla hatch. last owned a VW in 1998. It was a 1.6 Golf Mk2, great little car. I have owned numourous other makes of cars in between that time.... and found my self drawn back to VW. I am probably a little old fasioned but the electronics on the jetta scare me. Being an 08 it is out of manufactures warranty and only have 3 months stat. warranty. Not that anything is wrong but if something does go wrong, then big $$$. I want to get up to date as quick as I can with this car. I will feel better when I know everything about it. I done some research before I bought it but some answers are hard to get. Hopefully I can get some help from this forum and people who know there stuff. The car has TSI badge on the back and FSI on enging cover, whats the go with that? I have plenty more Q's but as this is an introductory I wont push it (-: I would like to become involved with this forum and help as well, when I know enough.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

There is quite a strong Jetta community on the forums here.
Hope we can get you to some of the events so Maca isn't the only one there.

Congrats on the new car, the '08's are the best model IMO because it was before they got overcontrolled by robots and computers.2002 Volkswagen Bora V5 - 2007 Mazda 3 GT - 1998 Ford Contour Sport - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0T - 2013 Volkswagen Passat 130TDI - 2015 Ford Escape 1.5 - 2016 Subaru WRX - 2018 Volkswagen Golf R Wolfsburg Wagon
